OVER YOU: そしてOVER YOUは今年本当にしょっちゅう会ってた!(笑)去年がR2Eの年なら、今年はOVER YOUの年だなっていうぐらい。彼らのホームである福岡で3回ライブ観ましたね。もうだいぶ慣れたもん、福岡。 OVER YOUは今年の春〜夏にかけてギタリストとドラマーが替わってます。それを機にだいぶ印象が変わったなあ。特に、ギタリストが替わるとこんなに違うんやなーって。メンバーチェンジ後に出したアルバムのツアーで、夏から40本近くライブやって、本当に活発な一年だったんじゃないかな。 正直な感想としては、楽曲自体の雰囲気は昔の方が好き。でも短期間でいろんな新しい面を間近で見てきて、「こういうこともするんだ!」みたいな新鮮さがあった。きっと今が過渡期なんだろうなーって感じています。この先どんな風に固まっていくのか気になる。 ♪OVER YOU『Picture Perfect』(2013)
MELLOWSHiP: 3位はMELLOWSHiP。秋冬は個人的に忙しい時期と重なったりであんまりライブ行けなかったのが残念。メロシは今年活発にライブしてたイメージ。いつも安定したライブを見せてくれる。 SPIKE26、NUGGETの元メンバーを含めた4人構成で、ド直球ミクスチャーですね。ジャンルとしてはド直球やけど、音のバラエティは幅広さを感じる。どの曲もキャッチーで印象に残るから、特に作曲という点で本当に尊敬してるバンド。ラップのキレや歌の爽やかさは、いつ聴いても耳馴染みが良くて安心する。あとはリードギターがほんまにエモい。「エモい」というひとことに尽きる。ギターに愛されてるギタリストなんやろうなって思います。 ♪MELLOWSHiP『Down Down Dawn』(2013)
Liberal Arts: Liberalは8回も観てると思わなかった。Liberal目当てでライブ行ったことないので、要するにこれは全て目当てのバンドの対バンとして観た結果の回数です。8回観たらそりゃあ曲も自然と覚えるわな。笑。 大阪の3ピースバンドで、すごくいいライブをします。(漠然としすぎか)初めて観た時「いいじゃん!」ってなって、対バンで出てる時は必ず観るようにしてる。3ピースとは思えないような勢いがあるし、本当に楽しそうなのでフロアも必ず盛り上がる。メンバーがとても気さくなのも印象的でした。(笑) ♪Liberal Arts『shake your head』(live, 2011)
今日の和訳。Black Veil Brides『Wretched And Divine』です。リクエストありがとうございます。 訳を載せる前にちょっと解説。 この曲が入ってるアルバム『Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones』はコンセプトアルバムで、 「統一化された教会政府が科学と創造力を取り上げることで社会を滅ぼしつつあり、この独裁的な政権が若者たちを薬づけにし無気力にしている—。そこで"暴れ者たち" (The Wild Ones)という名の難民たちが、子供たちにありのままの自分たちになり、反乱を起こすよう煽動する、というストーリー」 とのこと。(ライナーノーツに書いてあるらしい。ネットで拾った情報なので間違ってたらゴメン) なので、「The Wild Ones」とか「Global Disturbia」とか、大文字になってる単語はこのアルバムの物語の「用語」だと思うので、意味を捉えるというよりはニュアンスだけ残す感じで訳してます。
